Closure

Closure is when we detect a whole object even when there are gaps that prevent it from being complete. Because we expect the object to be whole, our mind disregards the gaps and fills them in. For example, the USA Network logo demonstrates closure in the omission of the "S" as a separate letter, though the "S" remains visible due to the curvature between the letters "U' and "A".
