Continuity is when we detect continuous patterns in an arrangement of lines even when the line segments are discontinuous due to our mind's tendency to perceive smooth patterns. For example, in this wire hot air balloon, we perceive the waved line that surrounds the balloon frame as being a continuous line when it is in fact a series of disconnected triangles.
